I think you've misunderstood just how bad this problem is. New users will unfortuntaly not be able to use the classic Hitfilm Express. There is zero way to get a FxHome distributed copy of it without having it prior to the update. But, just as a side note, FxHome is no longer giving out license keys for Hitfilm Express. If you had a hitfilm express license before the major update, you can still download and install Hitfilm Express. Simply sign in on the FxHome website, and you can view your owned products from there. So to sum things up, Hitfilm is still completely free, the name has been changed to simply be 'Hitfilm', and has added some new features.īut, if youre still a little upset about these changes, Hitfilm Express is still available for download. But, the software has been renamed from 'Hitfilm Express', to just 'Hitfilm'. Hitfilm is still free, but with a Pro version available for purchase. FxHome was simply purchased by another company, and the company simply made a few design and business model changes.
